Adult Program: Evolution, Creationism, and the State of Science Education in America
A presentation by Peretz School Principal Jeremy Freedman
Evolution has been a grand unifying theory in science for 100 years and yet there are groups that are still challenging this idea. These groups have a great influence on the text books and curriculum in our schools. With our children falling behind the rest of the world in science and math, this is not a trivial issue. What is evolution, what is the controversy, why not teach other theories, why does Texas hold such influence over what is written in our text books?
Jeremy Freedman has been a high school science teacher for the past 28 years and has had to face these issues directly. Jeremy will share with us his experiences, insights, and ideas. Come join us for what will be a lively and educational presentation and discussion.
10:30 AM at Rutgers Prep.
