Adult Program: “The Gershwin You May Not Know”
Peretz member, musician, and Gershwin aficionado, Ken Schmidt will present a discussion of the music of George Gershwin, showcasing works perhaps not as well known to the public as Rhapsody in Blue or American Paris.
Ken will also play selections from a wonderful (and now out-of-print) recording of Gershwin conducting a dress rehearsal of songs from his opera Porgy and Bess performed by its original cast. If you love the music of George Gershwin, be sure to come to this tribute to one of America’s greatest composers.
