DESCRIPTION:(Adult Education) \nThe Dead Sea Scrolls\n(A presentation by Professor Azzin Yadin-Israel) \nOur speaker Azzin Yadin-Israel is Director of Undergraduate Studies and Professor in the Department of Jewish Studies and Classics at Rutgers University. He teaches an undergraduate course on the Dead Sea Scrolls\, which have profoundly enhanced our understanding of Jewish sects of the Second Temple period\, the origins of Christianity\, and the rise of Rabbinic Judaism. The talk is open to the public; non-members of the I.L. Peretz Secular Jewish Community are asked for a $5 donation to cover program costs. As usual\, light refreshments will be served. \nThe IL Peretz Secular Jewish Community’s Adult Education Programs educate our members in engaging ways about Jewish heritage and the world around us.
