SUMMARY:Adult Program
DESCRIPTION:(Class 22) \nAdult Program:       “The Role of the Righteous Gentiles during the Holocaust” \n\nA presentation by Peretz member Deborah Silberstein \n\nWho are the heroes of the Holocaust? What inner strength and sense of ethics did they possess to have aided and/or saved not only individual lives\, but also the preservation of conscience and morality\, which are essential human traits. Why when countless others did nothing did they act? Why did they save “humanity” when others were committing government sanctioned “crimes against humanity” A variety of people and groups will be discussed in this presentation to include Raul Waldenburg\, Oscar Schindler\, King Cristian of Denmark and the ordinary citizens of Denmark. In addition\, lesser known heroes will be discussed with a focus on the fact that “no act was to small or insignificant” if it helps a fellow human. \n\n10:30 AM Rutgers Prep.
