Hospitality Instructions
WELL BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED
DATE …
…
check whether your family has a conflict; if so, it is your responsibility
to trade with a family scheduled for a later date. Please keep in mind that whenever possible, families
have been paired so that a family new to Peretz shares hospitality with one
that is familiar with the routine.
DURING THE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED DATE …
…
check with the previous hospitality families to see if any non-perishable
goods need to be restocked (these are
itemized below). When determining this, please purchase enough items so
that the next families sharing hospitality are not left with more than two
non-perishable supplies to restock.
…
make contact with the family with whom you are
sharing hospitality to determine how you will
handle the purchases of perishable (itemized below) and non-perishable
items.
ON YOUR SCHEDULED DATE …
…
the family responsible for starting the perk (regular) coffee should plan
to arrive at Peretz by 9:05 a.m. to get the coffee going; otherwise, please plan to arrive by 9:15 a.m. to start the setup for
the hot water pot, decaf pot, bagels, etc. so that these are available by
9:30 a.m.
…
note the initial arrangement of Rutgers Prep property (especially furniture, such as chairs and tables) that
might be rearranged during the school morning.
…
replenish supplies on the tables as needed
throughout the morning. Bagels are
typically one item that will need replenishing.
…
your children (and your children only) are invited
to snack from the hospitality spread at
the school break. The Teen Group is also invited to snack from the spread.
…
make hospitality available until at least noon;
after that, cleanup can start. The
baskets should be left organized and ready for the families sharing
hospitality the following week, and should be stored in the cabinet before
you leave. Unused perishable items should be given away or taken home.
…
as part of hospitality, the classrooms must be
left neat and clean. The blackboards must be erased
and washed, the floors swept, the trash cans emptied into bags that are
then placed in the outdoor bin, and any furniture or other property moved
restored to their original positions.
Any questions, please call Ilene Pawlak. Thank you in advance for your
cooperation in support of the Peretz community.
